Application Process

The application period for the new (2026/27) is now closed.

TIMELINE FOR SUBMITTING 2026/27 APPLICATIONS:

April 1st – August 31st, 2025

  • Note:
    • Applications are reviewed and shortlisted by October
    • Interviews completed by mid-November
    • Only applicants selected for an interview are notified

 

NEW APPLICATION PROCESS

All Radiology fellowship applications must be submitted via the new postgraduate application portal. The portal will open for Diagnostic Imaging fellowships on April 1st. Additional information can be found on application process on the McMaster PGME website.

Applications MUST go through the portal to be considered, please DO NOT email fellowships supervisors directly. They will NOT be accepted.

Once you click on the “Apply for Fellowship” button, you select either;

  • Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident Applicants
  • International Applicants

To submit an application, please sign up to the Faculty of Health Sciences McMaster Forms Manager and create an account. Once you have created your account, you will have access to the application form. Please complete the application form and include the following documentation:

  1. Up-to-date CV(must be up to-date within 6 months of application submission)
  2. Medical degree
  3. Specialty Certificate (MCCQE1 exam results if no specialty certificate)
  4. Undergraduate Medical School Transcripts
  5. Reference Letters
  6. Copy of passport you would be entering Canada with
  7. Funding
    **Translations must be provided with the application and official documentation, relating to qualifications, both undergraduate and postgraduate.

We highly recommend you follow our Instagram page to learn when new fellowships are added, and any openings are available.

IMPORTANT – DEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGY SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Personal Statement

You MUT INCLUDE THE NAME OF THE FELLOWSHIP YOU ARE APPLYING FOR within the Personal Statement. Please prioritize your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice, including hospital, if applicable. See the summary of fellowships offered at McMaster University. You can apply for up to (3) fellowships.

Personal Statement Letters can be addressed to Fellowship Selection Committee.

Reference Letters

The Department of Radiology requires (3) reference letters.

Note:

  1. If you have the reference letters in your possession, you can upload them via the postgrad application portal.
  2. Reference letters can be addressed to Fellowship Selection Committee.
  3. If it is a requirement for your referees to submit directly to the Radiology Department, please inform them by email: difellow@mcmaster.ca Fellowship Administrative Coordinator Office
  4. If item 3 applies, you will need to upload a single page under “Reference Letter1*” within the postgrad application portal; listing the names and contact information of the (3) referees.

For your Information:

Transcripts – Postgrad is referring to “undergrad medical school transcripts”.

If applications are sent to the Department of Radiology, the applicant will be notified to re-submit via the postgrad portal, as noted above. Do not email inquires or resumes to our radiologists.

Reference Letters – are to be forwarded to the Radiology Fellowship Coordinator difellow@mcmaster.ca, if required.
